Wendy

The most unlikely heroine of a most peculiar, brutal and stunningly beautiful tragedy. As dominating and psychopathic as Jack Nicholson can be in The Shining, Shelley Duvall's character is the perfect compliment. A mousey weakness oozes out of this girl the entire film until shit hits the fan and suddenly she is thrown into survival mode.

There is something so delicious about the color in this film - one of the many reasons it is my all time favorite. The haunted Danny has a standout wardrobe, but I think Wendy takes the cake. At times its as if she has so many layers of clothes she might just keel over from the sheer weight over her twig arms. Regardless, I adore the retro colors, lumberjack prints and modest silhouettes.

girl from the desert, conqueror of her own world

"About eight years ago, I decided to live out my dream of leaving the city behind and hitting the open road. I was living in Williamsburg at the time. For weeks, I kept walking past a chain-link fence with a Ford Bronco behind it that had a "for sale" sign on the windshield. It finally occured to me that buying that beast and embarking on my own personal journey was the only way to go. I called the number adn met up with a Polish man who spoke very little English. I paid him a thousand bucks cash, and there I was: a girl about to take flight from the streets of Brooklyn to the interstates of America.

I got rid of all my personal belongings, with the exception of a couple of cases of CDs and some clothes. With that, I left down the East Coast bound for Florida, only to break down for the first time in North Carolina (one of my many breakdowns, which all make for amazing stories). In that car, I was free: I was the bearer of my own news, conqueror of my own world, and had a sense of freedom that I had not experienced.

I turned off my phone for what ended up being four months of cruising. Florida to Texas. Texas to Mexico. Mexico to California. Up the West Coast to Vancouver. I finally made the decision to head back to New York with a new perspective and a newfound feeling in my soul. A girl can find a lot on the roads of America when she just lets the wind blow through her hair."

Happy 100th Post

She is so badass. Sometimes I wish I had as much money as these pop stars to put all of my creative energy into a 3 minute music video. And what puts me completely over the edge is that Lady Gaga is wearing two pieces from the latest Alexander McQueen collection.

so translucent, so lovely

It seems that for the past week I've been feeling a lot of anxiety for the future. What's my next move going to be? All I can say is there will either be a lot of disappointment or a lot of excitment in my next few posts. I can only hope for the best!

P.S. Please excuse my funny sports bra tan. I love my dog so much that I'm willing to have the impression of a bra and socks burned into my skin every morning on our walks.

Get wrapped up in chains

Monster DIY jeans. Inspired by Brook&Lyn's chain jeans. I took a pair of Manny's old BDG jeans and slashed them up. Then I ended up sewing on small drapping chains. The final step was changing these blue jeans to purple.

These are for sale!!

$55.00 + Shipping

Email me if you are interested.

These are mens jeans (BDG) originally from Urban Outfitters. They are a size 32x30. I am about 5'6" and weight 120lbs so they definitely have a "boyfriend" fit.

i want to meet the wolves halfway

This is my pre-zombie getup. I was feeling a little industrial.

The sweater/jacket shown is an amazing find from one of the best second-hand digs here in L.A. called Wasteland. They were re-selling it for only 40 bucks! I don't know who would give up such an amazing piece. Total business in the front party in the back status.

Hope everyone had a great halloween!

to awake and avenge the dead!

Best halloween ever. I was a dead zombie chick. Also attending the party was a werewolf, a waitress eating vampire, dead drama queen, dead punk rocker, zombie killer gone bad, dead mad scientist, skele-skateboarder, and one pink geisha.

It seems that for the past four years halloween has been super lame while I was at CalArts. I'm not down with stinky drunk artists. This year it was all about baking like crazy with Cristina (zombie punk rocker, I'm pretty sure she got shot in a mosh-pit). The menu featured pumpkin mini-cakes, apple pumpkin pie, cutest ever sugar cookies and mom's sloppy joes! SWEET!

thats my dog Nora.

Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard
business school. I travel quite extensively.

I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that.

I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK?!?

You think I'm qualified?
