Cut & Paste

Lily Cole is still the ultimate, clearly. She is my all time favorite supermodel followed by Cintia Dicker and Jessica Stam.

This spread reminds me a lot of H.R. Puff n' Stuff. I have no idea why. I think its because of the largely washed out color palette against Lily's orange hair. Altogether beautiful and captivating but feels almost like a bad trip.

Tim Burton by Tim Walker

Sometimes I look at a fashion editorial and just say to myself, "fashion is so fucking awesome." It stirs so many emotions in me and inspires me to start a new project of my own. These shots are so powerful and they leave me aching for a Tim Walker book. Too bad some go up to a grand on Amazon. Oh well, Lydia looks sick and so does Edward.

Long live Tim Burton.

heres to a new season

Even thought its about a thousand degrees out in L.A. right now, I'm looking forward to wearing this new beige beauty in the winter. Completely uncomplicated and modest faux leather. For fall/winter I predict contrast in texture and material as opposed to contrast in color.

I am turning against all of you

Generally, I don't ever ever ever wear anything this cutesy. But I caved in on this dress. I blame it on the purple tulle. Usually my outfits always have a harder monochromatic edge to them. They leave little room for vulnerability. I think this dress is the polar opposite of that and I don't know you'll ever see this again.

Feathers anyone? Reminds me of Xayide, the villain of the Neverending Story II.

Spring 2010

One of my favorite collections so far. Definitely not universal clothing despite the clean white and beautiful silhouettes.

L.A.M.B.

Spring 2010

I have to say, I wasn't impressed with a whole lot of what was in this collection. However, these few pieces called out to me. The whole concept of a "desert nomad", something which Erin Wasson's RVCA collection was trying to get at and failed miserably, is expressed so strongly here.

Julien Macdonald

Spring 2010

Another collection with sheer paneling, geometric shapes and razor sharp shoulders. So seductive. Can you imagine if everyone around you dressed like this? A girl can dream.

Sheer paneling.
Nuff said.

Also, did Barbarella help design this collection? LOVE

Burberry Prorsum

Spring2010

I never thought pastels could look so delicious. Burberry's collection is so lush. It is amazing how they always reinvent their classic trench. Iekeliene Stange looks unbelievable with the shades and super-bleached hair (the ruched shoulders are pitch perfect).

Whoa Spring 2010 - Runway Updates

Charles Anastase

Some super interesting collections have been popping up for the new Spring 2010 season. All very beige, tan, billowy, constructed, sharp, protected and don't leave much room for a woman to be vulnerable. I love the outlook.

Anastase is killing it with these platforms. They make a sweet girl with a simple complexion seem so unforgiving.

And I'll wait for you
As the cold rain falls
The Earth falls away
But my heart is true

Tonight I remember what it was like
To hear the rain's song when you were mine
Now here in this silence my heart dies
Saved by the roar of a broken sky

Halloween is for Geeks

And rightfully so. These pumpkins are epic - how long did it take to get that Predator one so perfect?

The lack of posts over the past week are the victim of severe time deficiency. I've been addicted to the premier novel of a close friend. Too bad for all of you who can't read it - the story has yet to be published! I can only hope that he can get it published soon because the story is wonderful.

Chris Kane for Topshop - Round 2

I love it when designers put out videos for their fashion lines. So much more sensual and seductive than a photo. The clothes are great but Daul Kim has amazing movement and presence here. Really nice editing with the music and pace - very very reminiscent of the movement in Gareth Pugh's latest video (not the one showing tonight).

Hooray for asian chicks with blonde hair.

Last few Copenhagen pics

This sequence of pictures might not make sense to anyone, but here is what we have: Design dancing at the Danish Design Center, Index Award Ceremony (the only pic I have of me in my Thomas Wylde silk dress), Rosenborg Slots & the King's Garden, Unicef warehouse. That about sums it up!
