Viktor & Rolf

V&R's collections constantly make everyone else's fashion imagination look like shit. Viktor and Rolf can create such a full bodied idea with each collection. It doesn't hold back. They throw themselves completely into the material and structure and the possibilities that would possibly only occur to a child.

This collection is like 80's silhouette and tough-chick attitude meets 30's era glamour and submission. The combination tastes good like peanut butter and jelly. Sweet & Savory.

Rick Owens

Please, someone buy me a rick owens leather jacket. I just have to have one. Its like instant sexy sci-fi chick.

Phi

It seems that this collection confirms that the color palette of the year is beige, black, super white, charcoal and army green.

Definitely the most inspirational collection so far, possibly because it is sooo wearable. You could practically run laps in these clothes. Hey, Milla did in Ultraviolet. I really want to start a DIY project inspired by these conservative daytime bondage shirts.

Spring 2010 RTW Updates

Celine

These are the garments that sophisticated ladies wear. Simple lines and all you need is supple luxurious materials to enhance your natural beauty - the best kind.

I wish I had a reason to dress this way. My favorite piece is the first LBD and Freja's white blouse and leather skirt, not to mention that killer army jacket (now that is something you wear to death!)

Did anyone else watch this when they were a kid?

To me, the images, concept, music, lyrics, characters and animation are classic. Watching this is very nostalgic for me.

Spooks & Spirits & Shadowy Shapes

This editorial is just what we need. It has that vintage Nancy Drew / Scooby Doo vibe to it. Love it. So classic.

Rock & Republic F/W 09-10

I die every time I see these ads. He is beautiful and so is she.

I think these two are in love.

I don't know who is more beautiful

From the Rock & Republic FW09-10 ad campaign. I am loving the combo of Charlotte Carey and Stephane Oliver. Such a good balance and they have serious chemistry on set. These ads make me melt.

Get em while they're hot (and still here)

for those of you kicking yourself in the butt for not getting them in the first place...

Give me Snakes, Give me an Ice Queen, Give me a Bitch

Alexander McQueen has created the most beautiful image of a woman I have ever seen. She is powerful and dangerous and unforgiving.

It sounds so cliche, but this creature is from another planet with her screaming shoes and knotted hair. Metallic nails and nouveau jewelry revive sci-fi anatomy.

Absolute favorite piece are the liquid black stilettos comprised of vertebrae and Alien's jaw & tail. Mark my words if they are ever available on Net-A-Porter, they will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine.

Trick

After a day of costume brainstorming at various shops and thrift stores - nothing really sticks out to me as a go-to awesome idea. At the end of the night we sorta came to some conclusion but the fact of the matter is that Halloween is still a month away... and I've got some time.

These crazy platform boots inspire me to get a pair of my own a bit more mild of course. I'm thinking black suede creepers with a solid 2 or 3 inch platform.

BTW - Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights are the shit. For anyone who was too scared or hesitant to go, just do it! By far the best Halloween treat.

Sweater/Gap, Drain Pipes/Zara, Monster boots provided by Cristina.

Nick Knight - Portent

This strange little oddity was created by the famed fashion photographer Nick Knight for thecorner.com as a clothing promotion/moving catalog. Video art seems to be taking the fashion world by storm and its really invigorating the movement of the clothes. I think this video is successful in terms of the music selection and the college style borders; however, you can't really see the clothing all that well.

Everyone Loves Gareth, Beyonce does too.

Homage to Gareth? I think so. A very appropriate pairing.

Beyonce is the Queen of movement. When she dances, she can make the most awkward and obscene choreography seem completely avant garde. I don't know if Thierry Mugler designed the gold piece at the end but I think it looks wicked with the 20s inspired hair - I just watched Blade Runner and it reminds me very much of Rachael's character. A past idea of the "future." I'm sick of waiting for that future to come.
